Down the memory lane – Ural Mountains

By hippieadventures on 2014.02.27 In Hiking Uncategorized

Wanted to share a few photos from the summer 2013, when me and my friend Alex walked out in to we don’t know where, somewhere in Russia. Two days of mosquito bites, lack of water, story telling by the fire and blisters.

We arrived late ish to this village, and tried to ask for directions to the river, using our roadmap of Russia and my very basic Russian. We later realised we had gone off at the wrong station..

The flies luckily didn’t like the fire, so we got some rest, however the mosquito still enjoyed hanging out with us and it was a long night, for me.CNV00005

We didn’t know where we had come from or where we wanted to go, our direction was a road map of Russia (like the entire Russia). I’m very fascinated by that we even thought that we could even try to navigate with that.

Even though we were without direction, and the flies tried to eat us alive, we still had loads of fun! and enjoyed the little adventureScreen Shot 2014-02-26 at 23.43.32

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
“I don’t much care where –”
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.”
